Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
A Bit of Background:
The Yas Marina Circuit was completed in 2009 and has since cemented its position as the traditional season closer. It’s dominated by 1.2km straight after Turn 7, where you’ll see the cars sparking along the floor as the high downforce pushes them ever closer to the ground at high speed. It’s also a slipstreaming dream. Add DRS into the mix, and this is where you’ll see the vast majority of the overtaking action.
What Makes Abu Dhabi Unique:
This is F1’s only twilight race, with the event starting during daylight and finishing after sunset, all with the backdrop of the stunning Yas Island Marina. Floodlights are switched on at the start of the race to ensure a seamless transition into the night and the firework finale is a fitting end to the championship season.
