Hungarian Grand Prix
A Bit of Background:
Williams won the inaugural Hungarian Grand Prix in 1986 with Nelson Piquet at the wheel. Further success followed in the years that ensued, with Williams remaining the joint-second most successful team around the Hungaroring with seven victories.
Located near Budapest, this is another F1 circuit that sits in a natural bowl and rewards fans sat in certain grandstands with a views of the vast majority of the track.
What Makes Hungaroring Unique:
It’s comparable to a karting circuit, with multiple corner sequences linking it all together and only one main straight. Therefore, the key to success isn’t outright power but high downforce, stability and a well-balanced car. The drivers love it, especially when they can get into a rhythm and some clean air. It can also get very interesting when a bit of rain gets added to the mix.
